Save costs – how does it work?

The most efficient and cost-saving function of a Smartfox is heating water. Here a heating rod is installed and integrated into the in-house boiler.

If solar radiation is at its most intense and electricity production at its peak, the excess electricity is used to heat the hot water.

In comparison to a solar thermal system, which is purely responsible for heating water, Smartfox not only ensures the supply of hot water, it also enables the control of variable devices such as a washing machine.

Hot water – the cheapest way to store energy

The intelligent control systems make it possible to increase electricity consumption by 2 thirds, i.e. from just under 30% to 90%. Under perfect conditions, even peaks of up to 100 % are possible.

The principle behind the function of a Smartfox is simple. The controller monitors your system and records its consumption cycles at intervals of 0.5 to 2 seconds – i.e. almost in real time – and then transfers the excess energy to those appliances that need electricity, such as a washing machine or dishwasher, instead of feeding the excess energy into the grid very small remuneratiuon.

In a self-regulating system, a relay-system can be used to stagger up to 4 devices individually, ensuring that you use your electricity locally and optimally for your own household.

A further plus is the option of íntelligent monitoring, which may be controlled via the Smartphone App or the account on the Smartfox website.

The production output can be viewed effectively and clearly broken down, and information on total output and total current, but also on data such as voltages, frequencies and current flows can be read out.
